Hands-On Butchering, Processing, and Cooking Venison
Designed for hunters and hunting families!
This workshop offers expert guidance in venison processing and cooking designed to help hunters optimize their harvest. This will be a hands-on workshop for hunters and families including knife safety, carcass cutting, sausage making and venison cookery methods.
The class will be broken into 3 parts covered in 3 days. Each class will be 2 hours long. You can choose to be a part of 1, 2 or all 3 days.
(Each day will cover different aspects of the processing process.)
Day 1: Knives, types of knives and what cuts they are best for. Skinning, gutting and breaking down deer.
Day 2. Butchering your deer. Different types of cuts of meat, how to identify them and how to properly cut them.
Day 3. Recipes, seasonings, sausage, smoking, safe handling, and additional cooking methods.
The workshop will also include a cook book you can take home as our gift to you.
